Usage

Slide rails, also known as guide rails and slideways, refer to hardware connecting parts that are fixed on the cabinet of furniture and allow the drawers or cabinet boards of furniture to move in and out. The slide rail is suitable for drawer connection of wooden and steel drawers in cabinets, furniture, briefing cabinets, bathroom cabinets and other furniture.

Classification

1. Steel ball type

Steel ball slide rails are basically two- or three-section metal slide rails. The most common structure is installed on the side of the drawer. It is relatively simple to install and saves space. Good-quality steel ball slides can ensure smooth push-pull and large load-bearing capacity. Such slides can have buffer closing or push-rebound opening functions. In modern furniture, steel ball slide rails are gradually replacing roller slide rails and becoming the main force of modern furniture slide rails. 

2. Gear type

This kind of slide rails include hidden slide rails, horse-drawn slide rails and other slide rail types. They are mid-to-high-end slide rails. They use a gear structure to make the slide rails very smooth and synchronous. These slide rails also have buffer closing or press rebound. The opening function is mostly used on mid-to-high-end furniture. Because it is relatively expensive and rare in modern furniture, it is not as popular as steel ball slide rails. This type of slide rail is the future trend.

3. Roller type

The roller slide has a relatively simple structure, consisting of one pulley and two rails. It can cope with daily pushing and pulling needs, but it has poor bearing capacity and does not have buffering and rebound functions. It is commonly used on computer keyboard drawers and light drawers.

Characteristic

Inside the slide rail, which cannot be seen with the naked eye, is its bearing structure, which is directly related to its load-bearing capacity. Currently, there are steel ball slide rails, roller slide rails, and silicon wheel slide rails on the market. The former automatically removes dust and dirt on the slide rail through the rolling of steel balls, thereby ensuring the cleanliness of the slide rail and preventing dirt from entering the interior and affecting its sliding function. At the same time, the steel balls can spread the force around, ensuring the horizontal and vertical stability of the drawer. The debris generated by the silicon wheel slide rails during long-term use and friction will be in the shape of snow flakes, and they can be brought up by rolling, which will not affect the smooth sliding of the drawer.
